“Woody Allen is sitting so close
far better than most anyone could write it, (and Scott, you idle-worshipper, don’t say it!!!) it sort of reads like all it needs is a closing line like “God bless us every one”
except it don’t close like that at all.

he can ask Lin if he has a younger sister.”

yeah, it was getting a little sappy, until he started attacking D’Antoni and the others,,, then went after Woody Allen like that… hmph…
Like I was telling my twitter friend – who reported he’s going to the Knicks game tomorrow against the Kings – I think there’s a good chance that tonight’s 3-pt last second winner might be the end of this initial streak. Just feels like it, from this distance – not rooting for it to be that way, as far as I’m concerned it can go on and on, but… ESPN says Lin has now scored 130 points in his first 5 starts, passing Shaq for most since ABA-NBA merger.
naw, I’m pretty sure that the Knicks are going to be undefeated the rest of the season and that Lin is going for 20 points and 10 assists every night for a few years.
Maybe he can keep it up until medical science solves aging altogether, and he’ll still be getting 20/10 until the end of time.
which end?
I laughed out loud at the idea of Woody asking Lin if he had a younger sister. Nice one.
And Lin really is a phenomenon. I have to admit that it’s been so strange I’ve kept ignoring it as something that was going disappear any second. Nope. It’s beautiful. Totally Hollywood come to life.
More and more convinced it ends today… or very soon… if I was at one of the games I would be searching for signs that those cheering Lin on were secretly wishing for him to fail, for all their sakes.
Doesn’t have to be a catastrophic climax… just a poor game… exhaustion, humanity catching up to him… give everyone a chance to offer a standing ovation to a 2 for 15, 3 assists, 6 turnover performance. As long as he continues to outperform against the tomato cans of the NBA, he denies “us” the chance to complete the circle.
I should just predict that it doesn’t end now so that if it doesn’t I can claim to have been part of the positive wave of energy behind the phenomenon. But after reading this…”Since his next opponent is the Sacramento Kings, look for Lin to keep dominating,” I can’t. The Kings have guards.
Ironically (give my own piece on the subject and my being at the very center of the universe and all), the Kings’ backup PG is Isaiah Thomas. (Biblical spelling.) Starter Tyreke Evans is coming off a good game but losing effort against the Rose-less Bulls last night. His chance to get a little press himself.
Right. He’s damn good when he wants to be.
Seems he may not want to be enough today, but that it won’t matter. Kings way behind at the half, but Lin may not be much of a factor, at least as a scorer. He did pile up 8 assists in the 1st half, however.
So maybe they’ll just the #linsanity die down easy. Do you know when Melo’s supposed to be back?
You mean Marshmellow?
Yeah, him. You’d think they’d want to get a loss or two out of the way before he shows up, in the interest of future team harmony.
Not his style to worry about the team.
That’s the point – if they don’t lose a few games before he returns, then every loss they accumulate afterwards will be his fault. So, for team harmony, the team should throw a few games and even seem a little desperate, so Melo can tell himself and the world that he saved them and was even good for the new kid.
…annnnnny day now
Seeing as how I’m the center of the universe and all, if I had kept my mouth shut about it, my prediction would likely have come true, but what fun would that have been? I would have had to tell people that I had privately predicted it, but no one would have any reason to believe me. Kinda Heisenbergian or something when dealing with quantum-entangled telekinetic fate vibes like this.
had you not acted, a new, more central universe might have emerged from the stillness.
your activity might have saved everything for us.
Yes, that’s always a risk that I feel compelled to take into account. You’re welcome.
Stayed up for a late replay of the Nix-Sac game and got first look at Lin……..he was, to my eye, an average NBA point guard if he learns to stop waiting a fraction too long to dish when he’s drawing 3 defenders in the lane.
Being an average NBA point guard would make him the best thing in the Nix backcourt in a decade.
Overall, what I saw was a team playing pretty damn good team D. Chandler, Lin and Shumpert/Fields works well. great rebounding by the guards
